This "no-width" problem was cured by going-to "View", "Chart Options", and
unchecking "Auto-size bar width when bar spacing changes".
Another trading friend of mine raised my suspicions when changing a
different setting in this box, and sure-enough, another "helpful" feature in
TS showed to be a neutering factor instead!
