I was told, by TS, that you could not avoid the splash screen. What I did
was do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to get into the Task Manager and open up one of the
tasks that is hidden behind the splash screen.
Works for 2000 since you can pick the tast to start up. Not sure if it will
help in W9x.
