The markets like decisive action? Bush is decisive, Euroland ain't?

The US economy is expected to grow more strongly once Iraq is done with.
France and Germany have unemployment rates around 10% and have no such
expectation. People who have been short the dollar have made money over the
past couple of years. No one wants to be short the dollar going into Iraq.
And gamblers might want to be long. Why is it neccessary to suspect
intervention? If you hear hoofbeats, think horse, not zebra. You'll be
right more often.

Subject: dollar index manipulated ???

Any thoughts on the rally of the Dollar Index? The move is on
light volume. Correspondingly, the Australian, BP, Japanese Yen,
and even the Swiss and the Euro FX have tanked.

If the dollar buying continues it will force currency traders to
liquidate their longs. (Some of my trades closed out already.)

Why should the Swiss and the Euro fall?
Does this smell like US gov't manipulation to inspire patriotic
confidence? The rally in the stock market is a suspicious
coincidence. Any ideas?
