Re: TS2ki

It is my understanding that the current non compatibility of ELD's from
2000i and TS6 is based on the fact that TradeStation is very slowly
upgrading it's existing customers and when it is ready to provide the
upgrade to each individual customer, furnishes a way to each old
customer to load their existing strategies. I have downloaded TS7 and
from what I see, it is a very interesting and useful upgrade.
Obviously, it will have no value if I can't load my existing work into
the program but I have been assured that it is possible and will be done
as soon as my turn comes.

I have found that broad band applications provide stable and usable
internet connections and although I did use DTN satellite for over a
year, I am much more satisfied with the internet feeds. I found the
reliability of 2000i with DTN to be reasonable but TS6 is far more
stable.

I have spent my entire career in the securities business, both as a
stock exchange specialist and as an investor. I have watched the whole
issue of data change many times in the last thirty years. My firm was
one of the early suppliers of government bond quotes through Reuters in
the early eighties and I must say that today information is much more
reliable. However, I am glad to have someone other than me manage the
data. I am a stock trader and I found that maintaining the data for
over 10000 symbols was a huge job. I still am maintaining the data and
update it daily, however it is clear to me that the data is far from
clean.

I also like the automatic execution of TS6 and have found in over a year
of testing that on the stocks I trade, the slippage has been
substantially lower than the .0416 per share that I build in to my
systems testing. I know that this letter may invoke a firestorm of
protest from those who believe that TradeStation has failed to live up
to it's promises. I can't defend their business decisions and won't,
however, I am interested in making money trading and if I have to pay a
bit for something that works better, I am willing to pay it. I have
been quite satisfied with TS6 and from what I have seen of TS7, I am
convinced that it is a giant step forward.

I bought 2000i and many other pieces of software during the last five
years. I found 2000i to be a useful tool that made me money, but it
always required a lot of attention and vigilance. I am glad to see the
data collection part of trading out of my life.

Sincerely,

Lawrence
