If you're referring to RMESA 5 (not 3) - I'm not using it but have had a
chance to review the historicals (obviously hypothetical results at this
point) and if you're OK with 5 wins out of 27 trades (12/10/98 to 2/9/99)
and $18,775 max draw down on one contract. Also 6/2/99 - 8/5/99 7 wins in 30
(10,850 draw down). Then there's 5 for 24 (11/5/2001 to 1/9/2002) with a
$15,950 draw down.
The system still shows a p factor 1.59 and nice net profit every year from
1997 (11% to 41%). If the losing periods are OK with you then it may be
something you would want to look into further. My personality has a bit of
a hard time with the longer losing periods but I haven't seen a system yet
that doesn't have something along those lines with a draw down.
I was following the "simple system" string last few days and would add -
take a look at a 10 X 60 cross over SMA on 1 hour bars on the S&P 500
futures large contract (go long cross over - go short cross under). Did
super every year for 5 or 6 years up until this year.

Michael

I wonder anyone here had experienced using John Ehler's MESA2002 in
their trading, please share your experience with me. Thanks.
