I have learned the hard way that backing up all your systems, indicators and
strategies are not the same with TS6 as with 2000i. The TS6 download is also
guaranteed to give you errors if it is done with anything running in the
background. It is not enough to just close foreground programs. All the
little icons down by the clock have to be closed out as well. Also, you
can't copy in the My Work and Templates folder and restore all the
strategies, and workspaces, etc. What you have to do is save all important
ELD files and then import them if you do a fresh install. Then copy in all
your workspaces, as well as the templates by filename. There are
install-specific files in the My Work and Templates folder that have to be
there.
So, If you did a download of the latest upgrade and didn't disable or exit
all those other little programs, you are hosed. Now you have to do a
complete uninstall, reinstall and importation of ELD files and workspaces.
Some good news. If you have saved your My Work folder or if your install
just didn't go well you can still come up offline and export everything you
need.
