Subject: Off subject - Computer Hard Drive Hog
I was searching my computer for files greater than 10,000 KB and came up
with two large files in the Windows\Application
Data\Identities\{182981...etc., etc...}\Microsoft\Outlook Express directory.
One was "deleted items.dbx" (189 MB) and one was "sent items.dbx" (132 MB)
I went into Outlook Express and deleted about 95% of both deleted items and
sent items. I rebooted and when I repeated the search, and the two files
were still there - the same size. Can anyone explain this?
So I renamed them "xxxdeleted items.dbx" and "xxxsent items.dbx". Now all
sent items and deleted items were gone from Outlook Express. New smaller
"sent items.dbx" (137 'KB') and "deleted items.dbx" (265 'KB') were created.
Conclusion: Outlook Express data files can become Hard Drive hogs even if
you delete the old items. To check your computer go to Find=>Advanced=>"at
least" "10000"KB
