kicked off the list, by who ?

For some days I didn't get any emails from the list, was I maybe kicked off
the list and so by who ?

Last monday Bellsouth's email was down and returned mail as undeliverable.
I suppose the list automatically "kills" you if email is returned, but isn't
that very fast after just one day ?
