Hello omega-list,
Yestereday (12/5) Monsoor Ijaz wrote an op-ed piece in the LA Times
(http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-000096561dec05.story).
the story is unbeleiveable about how the Clinton admininstration
passed on multiple opportunities to get Bin Laden from Sudan.
Ijaz, an American, mediated the deals largely on his own initiative.
Interesting thing for us is that his real job is as a hedge fund
manager. Today on Don Imus' show he described himself as a "rocket
scientist" who made enuf in the markets to allow him to insert himself
in various interantional affairs.
Interesting guy. and the story is quite an indictment of the Clinton
security apparatus (Berger, Albright, etc.)
