Could Netscape be the solution?
After hearing of the many problems that other list members are having I
thought that that the advice I received from my PC guru was well worth
repeating here.
He specifically told me only use either Netscape, or another
non-Microsoft web browser or e-mail program. I have done so. And even
though I receive the same mail inputs that all list members do, and not
in digest form, and it would seem that I have received NONE of the
viruses that other list members have.
Most likely, I've probably received them, but they haven't infected my
machine.
The proof is in the fact that I just finished running the House Call
program Sam Tennis suggested and none were found, and that's on a
machine that has NOT had an active anti virus program running for more
that 6 months. (You needn't tell me that that's foolish, but I haven't
been able to get that guru over here to fix the problem.)
You should know, however, that the Netscape program that I use is
Communicator 4.72, not AOL's currently hyped 6.0.
