I received the following a few hours ago & I then
asked if they had any objections if I posted: No
Reply, so for those interested: I sent Bill Cruz an
e-mail stating he knew about the DTN switch 30 days
ago and why didn't he just admit it, rather than the " when
DTN notifies us, we'll....." - - here's the reply:

Dear Mr. McKenzie,

Regarding DTN, what actually happened was the following: On 9/19/2001, DTN
notified us of a change that they were planning on making to their feed.
The change was the addition of a new field, Tick Sequence Number. We did
not make any changes to our software because our software was capable of
handling this new field. On 10/22/2001, DTN put this change into
production. It caused severe problems in 2000i. It turns out that the
problems were caused by another change that was made to the DTN feed -- a
change that neither TradeStation Technologies nor any other third-party
developer was notified of. This change was the addition of incremental
volume for electronic futures.

DTN rolled back the Tick Sequence Number change and rolled back the addition
of incremental volume for electronic futures. We are currently working to
support this incremental volume field. DTN has not yet provided a release
date for the incremental volume field. The Tick Sequence Number field may
be rolled out in January 2002, but all existing 2000i products will be able
to handle this without having to install an update.

Regarding Service Pack 5, the version you should have is 5.00.0822. To
download this version, go to the following link:
http://www.TradeStation2000i.com/support/default_updates.shtm. Click on
"Service Pack 5 Download Instructions." Then, simply follow the
instructions to download. If you have any difficulties downloading Service
Pack 5, or if you prefer, please let me know and I will arrange to have a CD
mailed to you. Please indicate the address you would like us to send it to.
