          Techies Battle Nimda Worm
          -------------------------

For a complete laundry list of all that NIMDA does,
why it's running rampant, and how to avoid it, go to ...

I was about to recommend going to
www.windowsupdate.com for whatever patches your
computer may need, but NIMDA seems to have drilled
into popular web servers, including Microsoft's.
Security analysts warn that once Nimda infects a
Web server running Microsoft's Internet Information
Server (IIS) software, the worm can spread to
visitors who view pages at the site using unpatched
versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser.

So the big question is... how do you get patches
without also getting the virus? Is the Windows
Update web site safe to use? Anyone know?
