Well, I have been in the computing business for more years than
most of you have been around (started my first company in the business
of computing in 1964) and I do not totally agree with what Bilo
says about jumping on the train when there is a better one.

I found that if in my business (computer data processing of seismic
data)
if you stayed just one generation behind the most current stuff then I
was
able to make a hell of a lot of money while my competitors were trying
to
get their newest and fanciest stuff working. A friend of mine always
stayed two generations behind and he made a hell of a lot more money
than I will ever make.

Frankly, if you want to make money trading I would think that you might
be better off just trying to find out how to best use TRAD now since it
is still the best that there overall.

To get something near to what TradingRecipes does I setup workspaces
with a large number of commodities ALL running the same "master"
system. So I change a parameter in the "master" and suddenly I have
a whole bunch of new results for ALL the commodities in the workspace(s)
I have active.

Sure, I wrote a simple .ela which directs the results to a file and
have
written a simple basic program which accumulates data from this file and
reports the "Kelly" and other statistics so that I can really evaluate
the
portfolio.

Yes, TradingRecipes is much easier to do the same thing ONCE YOU
HAVE A DEVELOPED concept of a system. Man is it tough to start from
scratch and develop under TR.

Don't be in too big a hurry to scratch Omega/TRAD as I have yet to find
anything that allows me to develop ideas as easily as in TradeStation.
