Omega has a knack for selling something seemingly feature-packed, until you
become more proficient with the product and see the features disappear one
by one, either because they were never there, or because of bugs that
appear as soon as you try out a brilliant approach. In the end, you either
return the product (or cancel the service) in disgust, or come up with
other approaches that work around the limitations. Like the high return
rate of 2000i, I expect several Pro cancellations in the future. The
people who remain are those who adapt and make their own tools; learn VB
and C++ DLL's to circumvent the bugs and add your own features.
In other words, you have to figure out a way to get around this problem and
move on. Believe me, as a 2000i user, I had my tirades with Omega, but in
the end nothing gets accomplished. The fact is that there are not enough
people in this business to cause the development of perfect applications.
TRAD won't help you. It's like yelling at a cow. It's a waste of
time. In fact, you will find that you know more about the product than
they do. As for their data management; they'll never get anywhere near
something like TAL, so don't wait for it. But that doesn't mean you should
cancel your subscription. Try out the filters suggested on the List.
God forbid I should pitch 2000i, but it allows you to manage your own tick
data.
Since I don't have Pro, I can't really say much about it to suggest
workarounds. So let me ask you this: how much of the data can you see in
Pro? Does it allow you to chart 1-tick data? Bid and ask 1-tick
data? Can you import several years of intraday 1-tick data?
