Jimmy re reindexing Global Server. I have rebuilt/ reindexed the Global
Server many times - really once a day - this via the well known operation of
deleting the .idx files and the 5 dat (+ other file types) under Server, and
files in ORMD Dat folder.... etc.
But honestly I have never really understood why this operation helps Global
Server.
Jimmy can you shed some light on this or perhaps what it is about Global
server that makes it inherently unstable ( beside the ususal frustatrate
answer : bad programming!).

Thanks in advance if you have any perspective on this.

Mike.

You probably have a data problem. Rebooting should reindex your data when
you open the GS. If not email me and I will tell you how to reindex. This
doesn't happen often so let me know if you don't get it fixed. You will
know you are reindexing when you open the GS because it looks like it has
frozen when it is opening. It even shows not responding in the task manager
but you will see ts32.exe is doing something so let it run. Mine takes over
an hour but I have a huge amount of data. Be sure to let me know if this
doesn't work. It is not the update every tick. It could be a corruption in
a workspace or system.

Does anybody know why I get the following error???

Out of Global Memory During Fre Allocd at 7281.

After this error, I get the ts32.exe error message and
2000i crashes.

I'm running in Win2000. My CPU usage and memory usage
are well below capacity (5% usage and 300MB avail
respectively).

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
