DSL. Here's my solicited suggestion. Buy the max bandwidth circuit available
directly from an RBOC. Choose a 678 router so you can implement DMT which
"stretches" the distance from the CO. Have the circuit routed from the
RBOC's DSLAM to an independent ISP that has fiber or a DS3 from the DSLAM to
their premises, and a fiber uplink to the "backbone." There are a number of
ISPs across the country that qualify for such a configuration. Then you
won't have any bandwidth issues, and the total cost should be around $120 a
month.
Cable! When you need bandwidth the most, Murphy's law will deny it. Cable is
for non-important applications, although it does work most of the time. But
it's usually a "dog" for the money.

Subject: OFF TOPIC: Cable or DSL?
Would appreciate opinions on which is better with respect to speed and
reliability.
Thank you.
