Tick Data Holes Update

Good morning everyone,

First, I would like to thank all of you for your insights,
data details and shared experiences. It is the best of this
list and I am very grateful for it.

I wanted to give a brief update and ask another question. I
spent about two hours on the phone with about half a dozen
people at CBOT. They were all very nice and all thought
that certainly CBOT a/c/e would have a tick count of ZN U1.
But, no one knew who would have it :) Nevertheless, they
even called me back with an answer! A rarity in support. If
only ESignal or Omega were so good. I finally spoke to a
person in the CBOT IT department, she confirmed an average
of 2600 ticks per day for the ZN U1 contract. Nothing like
the customer having to do the tech support for the vendor.
Thank you very much for letting me work for you Esignal.
Please send Belgium chocolate.

Esig averages 1000 ticks a day for the ZN contract. Less
than half of what is transmitted. Stunning. After three
hours on the phone with their tech unsupport and a few
emails to boot, I believe they may think it is now a
problem. As of yet, no word back from them. I'll post their
reply.

I would like to do the same survey for electronic bonds and
eminis in hopes of maybe moving to trade those contracts.
Could people send me their tick counts for the last 3 or 4
days for ZN U1, ES U1 and what data provider they use? I
can also confirm the emini counts off their website.

At this point I am seriously debating getting rid of
Esignal. Not just because they are delivering 1 tick in 3,
but also because their tech support was so nasty. At one
point they would not except my tick counts from THEIR front
end exported by their software into Excel. Why? Because
they don't support 3rd party software and Excel is 3rd
party software. No. They INSISTED that I count the rows BY
HAND! Fortunately they did not ask me to create fire with
two sticks. Are there any other internet real time data
providers out there that people have used? What kind of
luck have people had with DTN satellite? It sounds like I
would have to buy a second computer that is on all the time
with that setup. True?

Again, thank you everyone for your kind support. If you
find yourself in Boulder, Colorado, let me know. Beer's on
me!
