OT - fast network cards?

I'm upgrading to do backups/images across my local net, and I'd
appreciate any suggestions for fast network cards that would speed up
the process. There are a couple of Win 3.11 computers on the net too,
so I'd like to support OS's from there to Win2k.  (I know, I know -
don't make fun of the old clunkers. ) :-) Any other thoughts to make
these backups faster would be appreciated.
