RE: Bridge bankruptcy?

Bridge have been in Chapter 11 for quite a few weeks now.
Whether/how they will continue to operate all depends on the outcome of the
discussions with potential buyers of the company. Known so far is a bid by
Sungard who have bid for only part of the company - including the US
operations. Apparently there are talks with other groups, one reported to be
a German Bank. Certainly international banks will be keen for Bridge to
survive since they would want to support competition with Reuters and
Bloomberg which are the only other two comprehensive global data providers.
If Bridge disappear then banks will be concerned about a price squeeze for
insitutional data services.

An announcement is expected some time this week- maybe as early as Tuesday.
If there is any split up of the company it may take time to know whether the
end-of-day data service will continue. In the meantime until you hear
otherwise Bridge is continuing its services uninterrupted.

Regards
Ian

Subject: Bridge bankruptcy?

Dear List Members,

Just received a notice of a Chapter 11 for Bridge Information Systems.

Anyone have any data on this? Will they continue to provide end-of-day
data as they have been?

Regards,
