i would like to compare notes on Pro speed
and address the issue of Pro being slow on
open, close of session and in fast markets.

-today my Pro simply died on that fast market
short covering rally. about one half into the rally
cpu got pegged at 100% and stay there till
win2000 gave up the ghost. long beep, cpu
and win2000 locked and i had to reboot mid
short squeeze.
i am running 1G/256 80 charts/systems.
now, it seems like it really does not matter how
many charts i run on it 80 or 10. still ts was
very slow on chart updates ( t1 line ).

- another observation. on just about every open and
every close Pro is unable to keep up with the market.
( it keeps up only on very light open or close )
all alert are delayed till up to about 5min ( 1 bar, intrabar orders )
 after market open
or about 2-3 min after the market close,
depending on how heavy the open is!!!
i am greatly worried about this issue at this time.

now, the question is: is this common or is it just me?
is anyone else having "slow open and close or in fast market"
tradestation problem?

please post your comments and observation.
it's very important to find out on which side the problem is,
user side or their server side or somewhere in between meaning
the internet side or pro just being slow at processing incoming
ticks or do i need to tweak win2000 to speed it up somehow.

comments anyone? had any problems with ts speed?

***i suggest you do a test tomorrow on the open which should be
heavy and on fed announcement should be fast market.
even if you are not using systems, try loading 30-50 empty 5 min charts
going 30 days back and let's do a comparison on who's ts pro went down
and who's did not. open your resource meter or cpu meter and
take notes of cpu load during market open, fast market tomorrow,
and the close. then report your findings to the list. make sure
you are only running ts on that machine***

let's give it a try, shall we.

bilo.
p.s luckily my system was on the long side, the move
was tight all the way into the close and i have only missed
a couple of signals, otherwise i'd be real upset.
but i regularly miss mostly exit signals on the open... which
angers me greatly every morning having to chase the alerts.

another problem that i want to address later is that sometimes
out of nothing the charts just reload randomly without internet
connection being interrupted. on that later.
