I have been using a powerful emerging product, called PowerST,
http://www.powertesting.com, for almost a year now. This product provides a
platform that supports trading system development and testing, portfolio
money management and optimization - with a LARGE amount of programming
control by the user. For example, I have implemented a variation on Ryan
Jones' Fixed Ratio position sizing strategy programmed in C++, integrated it
into this platform, and I use it for generating daily trade signals (on end
of day data). I've found it relatively easy to recode my Easy Language
systems and my VBA/Excel money management code into C++ and integrate them
into the platform. Note - I have a programming background - I wouldn't
recommend a programming novice try this at the present stage of development
of PowerST. I am not aware of another product with this kind of power and
flexibility.
PowerST is in a state of controlled introduction. The vendor is going slow
in adding customers because he provides a substantial amount of customer
support and hasn't been ready to take on a lot of customers. The large
amount of support is focused on education and responding to customer needs,
not bug fixing - I have found the product to be very reliable and also high
performance given the limited number of users. I'm not sure the vendor is
taking new customers right now.
If you're potentially interested I suggest visiting the web site, looking
around and contacting the vendor if you want more info.
I am a paying customer, and I am not otherwise affiliated with the vendor.
