Another thought on CME's plans to raise fees.
One model to consider is the Island ECN. They make
their book available free. Island has been quite
successful, principally in the Nasdaq market.
I execute frequently on Island and find good liquidity
and price transparency.
One can only hope the CME looks a little harder at the
future.
