I did not follow all the conversation but what's the problem ?
Do you realy want a dual boot system ? (because i can
not see what you need WinME for but that might be
because i did not read the conversation)
If not, just delete winME (format the HD from the W2K
setup) In my opinion you do not need it anyway. I did not
find any thing that did not work on W2K yet.
If so, i would not consider installing on the same partition
as your WinME. It might give you problems you can not
see at this moment. I would create a dual boot on a
different partition (you were allready considering that for
the swap file, later more about how to do it)
you are worried about how much extra drivespace
you need because you need to install twice. I think you
might have something of a 6gig HD ? That must be
more than enough if you do not install other aplications
like a wildman. 3gig for W2K and 3gig for WinME.
If later on you find that you need some extra space in
1 drive you can use Partition Magic to move some
free space from 1 drive to the other.
OK, not keeping WinME is the thing i would go for
but if you realy want WinME you can install PM on
any windows 98 or whatever computer. During
setup it asks to create "rescue disks". These resque
disks can be used on any computer or HD. The only
thing PM does not do is install on a WinME machine.
It however handles the partition without any problem because
it is a FAT32 partion ?
With these recue disks you startup your laptop and
create any partition you like.
Greetings and hope this helps
