I can't describe it in as much detail as Bob because I don't have the
tools to analyze it. The symptoms are: I copy out a file containing
symbols X, Y, and Z. My friend tries to paste it and only gets X and
Z. If I remember right, *I* can also see only X and Z in the file.
It also happens in the other direction: they paste out, I can't read
all of their symbols.
