Kind of ironic that last winter/spring he'd have given a pretty penny for
some short sellers to go in and take the internet bubble apart and today he
screwed good anyone who was short.
It's a tough call though, when to announce. Isana noted today that the Fed
used to get chewed out because they announced moves on Friday afternoon and
that gave the Japs first shot at profiting from it on Sunday morning. If
they announce in the morning before the market opens, mostly only the big
houses get to work that. If they announce after hours, same problem.
Does anyone think this will be a good short late Thursday/early Friday? The
usual rule is that the first Fed move wears off after a couple or three
days. Half point is a big deal though. And the Fed Funds futures indicate
there will be more to come.
