Hi Kimball,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work. I thought it
would work and think I had tried that.
The problem is I don't find the custom symbols that I have under the Win98
pc. One clue that something is amiss --and I'm not sure if this is
important---is that on the target (Win2000 pc), From the Global Server, I go
to Tools, Edit Symbol Dictionary, and under Data Source, although I find
Historybank.com and Non-GlobalServer Data Types, I find a lot of space above
those two listings. This isn't the case on the Win98 pc, where the two are
listed plainly. When I Edit the symbol Dictionary on the Win98 pc, and put
in an asterisk, I see my custom symbols. The custom symbols don't appear on
the Win2000 pc.

Subject: Re: preserving TS2000i global server customizations
Hi, Mike,
Open the "Program Files" > "Omega Research" folders.
You'll see two folders within that you want to copy:
1.) My Work;
2.) Server.
Just copy those to your current "Omega Research" folder. You may have to
re-create your templates.
I have performed this operation a couple of times in the near past with no
problem.

Can someone suggest a way to move/copy data under TS2000i on a Win98 pc to a
new TS2000i installation on Win2000 ?
I have TS2000i (end-of-day) on a Win98 pc. I have made modifications to the
Global server by adding custom symbols.
Now I have set up a Win2000 pc and installed TS2000i.
I want to preserve the Global Server customizations, and well as the other
work I've done, on the WIN98 pc and move it all to the Win2000 pc.
I have not found in which directory or file the global server keeps the
individual symbol information--unlike TS 4.0 where the universe.mdb was the
file. My customized symbols are in the Global Server, Non-Global Server
Data Type, and there seems to be no way to export the data, so that I could
import them onto the Win2000 pc.
