digital cable does not strip all channels,
just those channels using digital broadcast.
if your local carried say switched CNBC, TBS to
digital, then those channels' sideband (where
the DBC and BMI data are) will be stripped and
you will not be able to receive data from those
channels.
Your choice would be to switch over to another
channel that is not affected. For example, in
Toronto Canada one of the local channel is a
data carrier and is a free channel, thus not
affected.
In case all channels your data vendor use are
affected, you will need a new vendor if cable
broadcast is the thing you want.
