You didn't say what had happened to your hard drive, but if you can't
access it and it is still spinning you might try
a software such as PowerQuest's Lost and Found. I had a bad hard drive
that was not accessible through any normal means and managed to save(copy
out) a lot of the software/data on it using the Lost and Found software.
