I can't help you with the ELA/ELS code, but as long as the date
string is unique, you could export your data using the 1000101
format and then do a search/replace, using any of the following
tools that suits you best:
sed <-- http://www.ptug.org/sed/sedfaq.htm
NoteTab <-- http://www.notetab.ch .
Both can handle very large data sets.
