A heads-up posted on the Behavioral Finance list, for those who don't 
subscribe, gives a link to Andy Lo's home page. Most will recognize Andy as 
Rocket Scientist Extraordinaire at MIT.

The Behavioral Finance post specifically mentions the "Foundations of 
Technical Analysis..." paper.

Also note the paper co-authored with Doyne Farmer who some will recognize 
as one of the perps in the recent book "The Predictors." (I highly 
recommend this book.) He's one of the principals at The Prediction Company 
in Santa Fe.
