When all else fails, read the docs. Perhaps this is of no use to anyone
except a few at the moment, and perhaps it will be to others some time in
the future.
In order to do a windows direct dde from DTN's Chameleon to the Omega Global
Server via the MetaServer product these are the necessary entries for the
ESU0 as an example. Of course this is redundant for TS2k since it runs off
DTN directly, but to get access to DTN for TS4 and to get access to the
statistics symbols such a circuitous route is needed. Also the GS has to be
configured for the DBC Signalsubserver using the Setup Wizard and TS4 server
needs to be the Signal Server not BMI. The N09000021 is a DTN data CME
identifier(list is available in Chameleon Help). The "a" is a substitute
for @ which is not a permissable DDE character. A similar thing can be done
with OmnicomV5.20 which also supports direct dde and Excel and will port to
both TS4 and TS2ki.

DDE Link definition for the emini:

Application = CHAMELEON
Topic          = DDEQUOTE
Item            =N09000021aESU0

This will pick up the Last trade and send it to the GS. It may be
necessary to use an Excel intermediary for the components of the stat
symbols unless the Item designator can be modified to include the
uvol,dvol,unch,total. Excel could also be used for creating custom indexes
or portfolios and ported out as one symbol.

The UMDS/UsDDE/Dynastore is plagued with problems, the first of which is
lack of support for the single user UMDS. Its the front end of this combo
that has problems not Dynastore which will also ship out to TS4 or TS2ki.
Its the UMDS that barfs "Loading DTN BDB" errors and causes no end of hair
pulling and frustration. The UMDS also suffers from the "P" code maladay
like the GS does. And its the UsDDE one second polling that makes use with
high tick volume symbols useless. Using the GS in the DBC Subserver mode
doesn't require the Process Codes, apparantly. Using Chameleon gives
instantaneous data as does Ensign by the way meaning no waiting for the damn
P codes. Ensign also has a great DDE out to Excel capability which could be
accessed by Omicom or MetaServer. Such configurations may/do have some
symbol limitations.
