I've been running BMI Satellite and TS4 for 2 years now pretty much
troublefree. But now I have a problem. My computer got turned off by mistake
without exiting Windows and doing an orderly shutdown. (BTW I'm running
windows 98 with TS4 on a 400mhz computer with 128 megs ram). When I brought
the computer back up, it of course went thru the scan disk check and then
came up ok. When I started TS4 data server,it gave me the message "No data
being received from datafeed on COM1." I've had this message before but it
never lasted for a very long time.
I went thru the extent of my technical knowledge which is to shutdown the
satellite receiver and shutdown the computer, make sure the connection is
tight from the receiver to the computer, and start everything back up. The
satellite is locked, it is receiving packets, but TS4 cannot receive the
data. This has been going on all day now. Does the hard shutdown have
anything to do with the problem? Does anybody have any tips before I go and
invest a couple of hours waiting on hold with BMI tech support?
