``The rumors are not true,'' said Fed spokesman Bob Moore. ``There has been
no traffic accident. The chairman is attending a board of directors meeting
at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago where he has been since early this
morning and he is fine.''
Traders in New York said the unsubstantiated rumors that Greenspan had been
injured in an auto accident began circulating in the bond market.
