I've heard reports of some MSWindows apps actually running faster under
emulation on Intel Linux than in the native MSWindows environment, as the
CPU is the same, and apparently some of the translations map to simpler
code in the X world on Linux. Presumably many apps run slower, too.

The last time I looked into this issue seriously, a year or so ago, I
found I could not run TradeStation under Linux emulation because of
the virtual device driver (VXD) TS uses to access its dongle. The
good folks at SafeSoft (now Safe-Key) enlightened me on the problem,
and sadly, informed me that their product wouldn't help, as it too,
uses a VXD to do its work.

Perhaps TraderGirl can bring us up to date as to whether any of the
current Linux emulators can deal with VXDs.

Perhaps also she can tell us how she uses Microsoft Outlook Express
on her Linux machine... :)
