Okay, I am going to make this message public on the list because people may
find it useful. (Okay, Phil?)

WINDOWS on LINUX

You can do it free using WINE, www.winehq.com

Or you can purchase VMWARE, and run Windows2000, WindowsNT, Windows 98/95 on
top of Linux and access the applications you need from time to time.
www.vmware.com

You can also Dual Boot, 10gig hard disk, use 5 gig for Windows, and 5 gig
for Linux, and just boot to whichever you'd like to use at that point in
time.

You can also use Partition Magic (comes with Caldera's Linux) and it will
create a Linux partition on your Windows hard disk, with no need for a
format, or messing with the drive. It just reserves some space, like one
big file, so you can use Linux. if you have the free space, this is the
easiest route for many of you.

Most people here should look at Linux as a hobby, because its power cannot
be harnessed right off the bat. For instance, only a very small percentage
would feel comfortable loading Linux, and opening up its multiuser
capabilities, FTP, WWW, Telnet and so on servers and actively creating
users, and setting up Sendmail (POP), and so on in the first week, for
instance.

Give it time, thats all I can say.

Cheers,

TraderGirl
