Yes i think so too. I've asked it this serval times to enlighten us with its
trading knowledge. Instead, I get this spam -- to the list no less. So far
it hasn't bit. Instead it hacks lies to this list and exposes list members
to ublievable vulgarity.
This is grounds for removal if i've ever seen it.
So I'll ask again. Please show us how you use Linux to trade. Do you use
TS4? or TS5? How does TS5 run with Linux?
I don't agree that most people should be using Linux as a hobby because as
(i agree with TJ here) traders shouldn't care what platform they trade with
so long as it's stable. Actaully they should care -- they should seek out
the most stable platform that's been tested with their product. If TS5 or 4
hasn't been tested with Linux by Omega, then odds are good, there will be
bugs. Actually, i'd go one further and say that odds are omega hasn't
tested TS2K or TS4 with Linux and there would be flaws so why use Linux when
NT4 is not only verified by Omega but works great! Bugs you probably won't
discover until you have 3000 symbols entered and have spent a ton of time
setting the system up. I think most people on this list have better things
to do and would rather spend their free time interacting with people rather
than their computer.
Furthermore, why would you want to run something as important as trading
software on a system that essentially runs 2-operating systems -- Linux and
Windows emulation? Macs have a Windows emulator and it's unbearably slow.
Linux should be a bit faster since it runs on the same processor but still
it has to execute conversions.
It's like a trading system, more often than not, the more complex it is the
more it's prone to fall apart.
