Robert,
The BMI representative should now that we are talking about 2 problems
here:
1. The BMI DataManager (the software) is losing ticks left and
right, and only catching about 50% of all ticks that comes through the
BMI box - on symbols with a lot of ticks-. Thus - THIS problem
is NOT related to the BMI box (the hardware).
2. The fact that the number of symbols and number of ticks that
are being broadcast today, has grown tremendously since a couple of years
back, will require a broader bandwith to keep up, is a totally different
problem.
It is a SHAME that BMI does NOT recognize this problem, which ANYONE
can easily test out, by having 2 computers running side by side, one collecting
data on TS4 and the other collecting on TS2k.
If BMI/DBC does NOT correct this problem - or even NEGLECT TO ACKNOWLEDGE
IT, would you REALLY like to be customer of such a company?
Why would ANYONE switch to eSIGNAL, when you see how BMI/DBC respond
(or more correctly - does NOT respond) to such a DEVASTATING problem?
Cheers,
Odd.

Robert
Mr. Cummings,
Thanks for your email. Due to bandwidth constraints, broadcast systems,
meaning both Signal and BMI broadcast system boxes do not have the
bandwidth to keep up with the active trading that's occurring in today's
markets. DBC makes no effort to conceal the situation.
For this reason, DBC recommends eSignal to all existing and prospective
customers. Internet is the only medium with a wide enough bandwidth
to
transmit the data.
Sincerely,
