the JGB contract was not traded on simex in 1992 or before. i dont recall
precisely, but i think it was listed by simex around 1994. volumes are still
very low compared to the home market, the Tokyo Stock Exchange, so charts
made from Simex data will have differences with those made from the TSE.
you might be amused to know that a friend of mine in Tokyo contacted the TSE
on my behalf for intraday data for the JGB. they wanted approx. Yen 40,000
for one month's data, which is about USD400.
yes, that's for ONE MONTH only!
it got even better: for foreigners they have a special price: Yen 50,000.
i didnt enquire about daily data.
should you come across any intraday JGB data, i'd be interested!
