I am not a computer expert, but imho the tick file is your most important
asset of the whole program. The charts can be reconstructed and the program
reinstalled, but it is much more difficult to replace the tick files (and
non-generic coded systems and indicators). You will never regret adding an
adequate backup system. Just adding a 2nd hard drive for daily backup gives
you dramatically added security. Backing up to the other computer weekly
may be sufficient in that case. Adding a local network is a tremendous
asset and does not cost much, even if you have someone do it for you.
Severely corrupted files and hard drive crashes have slowed me down, but
with this system, I am back up and running fairly quickly. I back up the
server folder daily and the whole omega folder weekly.

I hope this helps. I'm sure our resident experts will have more specific
info for you.
