W2000 has temp dir for every user. Login under other user name
and you'll be OK. This trick should help. It has nothing to do
with registry!

Open Windows Explorer -> Tools Menu -> Folder Options ->
View tab -> select Show hidden files and folders -> OK

Then go to
C:\Documents and Settings\<your-user-name>\Local Settings\Temp
and delete all temporary files. Note that drive letter may be
other than C:\.

Reinstall the SP. Now you can go back to explorer and
select not to show hidden windows folders if you prefer so.

Or you could have created a new Windows\Temp directory. This problem has
occurred to a number of us with various flavors of Windows, and has been
previously discussed on this forum.
