Re: C-TREE ERRORS IN GLOBAL SERVER

I've had a hellacious time with my computers here - power surges, bad HD's -
it's been a nightmare. Plus, TS2000 sucks so badly, it just makes the
problems worse! For the CTree problem, here is what Omega's Tech support
sent me:

---------------------------------------------------

The error message encountered is related to corrupt data files in the
GlobalServer. You should first export your data to an xpo file in case the
problem gets worse. After exporting your data from the GlobalServer, you
should delete the *.idx files from the C:\Program Files\Omega
Research\Server\PDS directory. After deleting these index files, open the
GlobalServer for them to be rebuilt. Determine if the problem has been
resolved by using the program. If it has not, you will need to rename the
close the GlobalServer, rename the pds folder and import the data from the
xpo file created earlier.

[RR comment:
I think he means close the GlobalServer, rename the pds folder, and import
the data from the xpo file created earlier.]

I would also recommend upgrading to Service Pack 4c once the problem is
resolved if you have not already done so. The patch can be downloaded from
the Product Updates section of the Omega Research web-site. Please let us
know if you have any further questions.

Anyway, I hope that helps. BTW, I backed up everything before I did this,
just to be on the safe side.

All the best,
Richard Ralph
