I don't think that's true - I've been running W2K for months, and
subjectively it is faster, not slower, than my previous WinNT setup on the
same hardware.  And it's a LOT more reliable.

If it were really that much slower, it would be a scandal, and we'd be
reading about it in the paper.  I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but so far I
think they got this one right.
