My opinion is the book is an excellent resource for a FL systems designer
and developer. I found the C++ code instructive but I really didn't use any
of it for reasons of wanting very compact code. I tried to shoehorn the FL
code into ELA code but kept bumping into the 64k code limit. When I
overcame that it was too slow and moving it to a DLL greatly speeded it up.

I can see the value of the C++ code if one was developing a full blown FL
system to control a power plant or guide a missile. I don't agree with the
reviewer.
