I haven't been using it during the day yet, but my impression is that you
have to pretty much collect everything, but you can set it to collect only a
few days of tick data by default (ie, for the majority of symbols) and then
set a longer period of time for it to keep the symbols you are interested
in. I tried deleting a few symbols out of the 40,000+ is it collecting and
it added them back the next day. I haven't looked for a checkbox to turn
off this auto-add feature. I sent the author email and he promptly answered
stating that much of the data import/export issues and portfolio mgt issues
would be resolved in the upcoming next version.

Has anyone been using the Universal Market Data Server for a long time now?
How is it performing? Any quirks we should be aware of?
Is there a way to limit the number of symbols or type of symbols it
collects? What if I just want to collect indices and futures but not stocks
or options or mutual funds? Is there a way to prevent it from collecting
stocks/options/mutual funds?
