Nelson Freeburg does extensive research on various models and that is the
value of his newsletters IMHO. He focuses a lot of his time on reducing
drawdown in his models so they are more comfortable to trade and his models
are usually long term. I trade one of his mutual fund models in my IRA
account and am very happy with the results, given that it trades on weekly
charts and I only have to update my stats on Sunday. It fits my
risk/reward/time invested profile for my IRA very well. His research is
usually thought provoking and I have incorporated some of it into my normal
trading activity.
