Sorry, no, it *didn't* help you. That setting changes only the way
your PC *displays* date information. It doesn't affect proper Y2K
operation at all.
If you want a reasonably quick test to tell if your PC is Y2K-ready,
see http://www.winmag.com/library/1999/0101/fea0061.htm, and in
particular http://www.winmag.com/library/1999/0101/fea0061b.htm . If
your system passes that test, your PC is Y2K-safe. If not, then
changing the date display in "Regional Settings" won't help.
