www.cybercorp.com has a couple of versions of a proprietary software
package (free download) that communicates with their trading servers. I've
been using it for about a month. It is light years ahead of the web based
online brokerage I was using before.
Their customer service is excellent -- in fact, it is the best I've ever
encountered in almost 40 years of dealing with various customer service
organizations. Their service includes a chatroom which is monitored by
their tech support people so you can get responses within a matter of
seconds to any technical problems that might come up. Their commissions
vary from $14 to $19 per transaction, but for that you get instant
execution (10 seconds would by an atypically long delay to get an order
filled) and instant confirmation. If you put in a lowball / highball order
and change your mind before it executes, you can cancel instantly (less
than 1 second for confirmation) as well. You can direct your order to the
ECN of your choice and can do out of hours trading. Options trading is
coming real soon now, but not currently available.
Anyway, enough rambling -- check out their site. You'll be glad you
did. I have no connection with cybercorp other than as a satisfied customer.
