Ahh, a real processor. In my previous company, we had well over 50 server
type computers, everything from IBM's, HP's, Sun Ultras, SGI's, DELL Intel
racks, and Decs. Of these, there was never a doubt by the Sysadmins and the
developers what the fastest machine is: the DEC alphas run like a bat out of
hell.
However, note that I say "Intel 64-bit processor" above. The reason is
simple - I want to be able to run my software.
