Balmer supposedly said the same thing nearly verbatim last quarter so some
people are discounting it that way. Personally, I think if you saw how many
class action lawsuits were filed against Ktel after it's stock price shot up
1000% and then collapsed back near it's original price, you might think
Balmer is just being a good President and doing a little CYA in case of a
general "bear" market. Jim Cramer on TheStreet.com today said he used to
play poker with Balmer in his Harvard dorm room. He said Steve used to
bring a shoebox full of change to the games and they never knew how much he
had in there. They called him "Shoebox Stevie", master of the bluff.
Cramer said he went long MSFT as soon as he heard the news.

Ballmer's been saying essentially the same thing for months. He was in the
paper a couple months ago saying something like it's "ridiculous" for MSFT
shareholders to expect the recent earnings growth rate into the future.
