MESA98 and TS

If any of you are using MESA98 with TS 4.0 I'd appreciate your
opinions on it.

I'd like to use it with my trend following system to filter out
some of the signals occuring in non-trending markets.  Can MESA98
be used in conjunction with another system and backtested?
I'm thinking of something like:

	if mesa = trending and mysignal then buy at market;
